What's new on Gmail?
Just Launched!

G is for growth
Storage is an important part of email, but that doesn't mean you should have to worry about it. To celebrate our one-year birthday, we're giving everyone one more gigabyte. But why stop the party there? Our plan is to continue growing your storage beyond 2GBs by giving you more space as we are able. We know that email will only become more important in people's lives, and we want Gmail to keep up with our users and their needs. From Gmail, you can expect more.

Its amazing how these guys can offer so much space. Where do they get it from. I am almost certain this is OVERSELLING at its most shameful level. But to be honest, who will fill up 2GB of text and html? Its not possible unless you're sending and receiving large attachments and even that will take a few months if not years to fill that limit (realistically).

Well if Bill Gates gets few million e-mails a day and his company got a special department clearing the spamm, we can say there are people who are interesed. BUT why would Bill Gates host his e-mail at Google ?

My opinion about all this stuff about Google's super space offers is nothing but an advertising bubble ! People are very emotional and will surely jump on googles e-mail. Mine e-mail service offers me 25 mb and i have filled it to 30 % only, depsite the fact i have been using it for 3-4 years already ? You aks me how ? Cause i delete old e-mails !

Yeah but Bill Gate as a person will not receive a few million emails a day. Companies on the other hand, thats a different story. Plus if a company receives so much email traffic then it would mean this is a famous/popular company. Which means they would need their own sitename.com and name@sitename.com emails to maintain their professional integrity.

Gmail is a personalised service for individuals to send/receive emails. Btw, RedDragon, if you want a Gmail invite just let me know :)

Its a nice lite email client, no images involved so its very fast!
