A good advertising network can often bring a webmaster a nice return for the time put into a website. On the other hand using the wrong media or network can seem like a lot more work than value.

What advertising outlets to you prefer, if any, and what methods have worked the best for you and your site/s?

I use google ads as a filler. People buy ads or good freinds ask for advertising I replace the google ads.

You will have to manually edit the template files (header, content, footer) of your vbulletin board and insert your advert code in the right place. HTML coding is highly required to do this as you may end up destroying the layout and rendering your board unviewable. You can visit the vBulletin support pages www.vbulletin.org for more specific tutorials on how to do this.

Back to the topic at hand, the best 3 advertising networks in my opinion are:
- Google Adsense
- Fast Click
- Casale Media

As far as I am aware.. they do not pay via 2checkout. You can send them an email and ask them personally :)

http://www.chitika.net - Similar to Google Adsense but more related to products. Heavily inspired by Amazon, showing products, description, reviews, pics. They pay publishers 60% of all revenue generated (as stated on their website)
